Between and Beyond explores links between the body, architecture and the object. It considers the body as the landscape where the architecturally inspired work is sited and connects to its surrounds. Justine Austen and Andrew Weatherill create artwork that explores the relationship between man-made forms and environment. Austen is a contemporary jeweller and Weatherill has trained in fine art printmaking. Their artworks attempt to push the boundaries of these traditional art practices through the building of interactive installations and virtual environments.
Justine Austen recently completed a Master of Fine Art at RMIT University researching the relationship between the body, architecture and jewellery. She gained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Gold and Silversmithing from Monash University in 1998 and followed her passion for gemology, gaining a Certificate IV in Gemology from the Gemological Association of Australia in 2004. Justine has exhibited in both solo and group shows nationally and is currently based in Melbourne. justineausten.com.au
