5-6.30pm Our world today is very busy. We want things quickly. Processes that traditionally took much time and labour are being replaced by new and efficient ways of doing things.
Where does the notion of skill stand in the midst of this? Is replacing hand skills, traditionally a time rich experience, a service or disservice to time-honoured practices of making things? Can modern technology enhance traditional hand skills? These are a few of the questions we raise in our second Jewellery 3 Ways seminar. Skill is the focus of our discussion in this seminar. We ask three specialists in their field to consider skill in their discussion of their individual practices and invite the audience to participate in extending a conversation on contemporary jewellery practice. Speakers Bin Dixon-Ward, Amanda Dunsmore, Karl Fritsch
