Object & Jewellery by Daehoon Kang & Joungmee Do
Daehoon Kang and Joungmee Do’s combined exhibition “Object & Jewellery “ presents a body of contemporary silversmithing, metalwork and jewellery that illustrates the distinctive and exceptional hybrid qualities that emerge from a combination of eastern and western training. “Since practicing as jewellers and silversmiths in Australia we both have experienced numerous new processes and concepts however we find ourselves continuing to seek out our own specific cultural characteristics, and as the work has evolved we have tried to refer to and incorporate these qualities in our individual practice. Whilst this cultural component is a significant element of our work in this exhibition each of us employs differing creative and technical processes to produce outcomes stylistically identifiable and unique to each artist
