Precious Little
'Regret nothing, fear nothing, embrace everything'.
A McNab and K Dutton
We cannot remake our past. It is gone. We can only make the past and future in the present moment. This is all we have to work with. Much of our mundane present moment is made up of interacting with everyday objects, which through habitual use effectively become invisible. There is the opportunity to draw the simple forms of the common object into consciousness through my jewellery pieces, which reflect the immediacy of the making process that is quick, intuitive and spontaneous. The malleable materials that I use, such as clay, soft metal foil and mesh, lend themselves to this immediacy, capture it and reveal it. Within the present moment a precious 'jewel' is hidden.
