About the Artist

Megan Perkins works from her studio in the Huon Valley, Tasmania, nestled amongst the forest. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from UTAS and began making over ten years ago following a mentorship in vitreous enamel. Megan has been mentored by Anna Davern, undertaken masterclasses with Karl Fritsh and Lisa Walker and at Alchimia, Florence. Recently she took her work to JOYA, Barcelona.

Grants and awards include Australia Council's JUMP, an Arts Tasmania Individuals Grant and the Dombrovskis Award. As a graphic designer with a master woodcraftsman father Megan’s jewellery has unconventional influences. Carpentry techniques merge with metalsmithing to create striking, graphic works. www.meganperkins.com _
