An intimate, experimental performative event that considers the mutable boundaries between observer and maker, plant and human, artist and scientist. The Visible Light Project is a multi-disciplinary research project that crosses the boundaries between botany, ophthalmology and art and explores the absence, transition, processing and observation of light.
Two key residencies underpin this project undertaken at the Ophthalmic Imaging Clinics, Flinders University and the State Herbarium, Botanic Gardens of South Australia. These residencies, considered light as a key ingredient for vision, perception and growth and investigated the ways that plants and the human eye process light into energy. This project is a part of the 2019 SPEAKER Artist talks series run by RMIT Intersect. #thevisiblelightproject #catherinetruman @thevisiblelightproject @catherinetruman This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body, and the South Australian Government through Arts South Australia. |
